Loft Insulation

Lower energy bills and get a warmer home…

A quarter of all heat loss escapes through our roof, according to the Energy Saving Trust, so it can really pay to have quality insulation fitted.

If you have old insulation installed in your loft, here’s the three main reasons why it’s worth topping up or replacing it:

  1. There have been many improvements made in recent years making new insulation much more thermally efficient. Replacing it with a modern material will make your home warmer and save you hundreds of pounds each year on your heating bills.
  2. The current recommended minimum thickness for maximum efficiency is between 270mm and 300mm, depending on the material used. Older insulation may only be 100mm thick.
  3. Older insulation may have been damaged over time, for example by water, birds or vermin entering the loft. This prevents the insulation trapping the warm air in which is needed to effectively insulate your home. If water has entered your loft over time this could be damaging to your home.
